My work focuses on the impact of climate change on human health, the therapeutic effects of psychedelic drugs, the corporate financialization of American healthcare, and the interdependence of the world around and within us. I've been supported by grants and fellowships from Berkeley, as a Ferriss-UC Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellow, the National Institute for Healthcare Management, and MacDowell. I have a medical degree from Columbia University and completed residency training at Harvard. I practice in rural emergency departments in the desert southwest, where I am a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico. I'm represented by Katie Cacouris of The Wylie Agency.
